5 weight loss strategies we bet you’ve never thought of
Okay, let’s be serious for one moment, not to say that healthy weight loss is a humorous matter but, likely you’ve read every blog imaginable up to this point trying to figure out the best weight loss programme for you. But, this blog is going to be a bit different, and we are going to focus on a few very helpful tips that often go ignored.
The trouble is too many people calling themselves some sort of professional or expert in healthy weight loss are simply wasting your time. There are no fly-by-night healthy weight loss programmes that will work magic within the week, or worse, within the hour. From our perspective, when so-called experts offer you the fastest way to lose weight, without any sort of doctoral, or science behind it, this, quite frankly, is reckless, and, at times, dangerous.
If you honestly want to lose weight and keep it off, there are a few things you must first understand, and do.
What is healthy weight loss?
We completely understand the need to lose weight fast, but you must understand that putting the words “lose weight fast & safely or healthy fast weight loss” just don’t go together. It’s almost a conundrum or oxymoron depending on how you look at it. It’s like saying jumbo shrimp or military intelligence – the two words just don’t mesh!
The CDC (Centre for Disease Control) describes healthy weight loss as;
“People who lose weight gradually and steadily (about 1 to 2 pounds per week) are more successful at keeping weight off. Healthy weight loss isn’t just about a “diet” or “programme”. It’s about an ongoing lifestyle that includes long-term changes in daily eating and exercise habits.”
The most important words from the above quote is something many can agree on – healthy weight loss isn’t about dieting or finding the ultimate programme so you lose weight fast, it’s about an ongoing lifestyle that you must commit to for the rest of your life.
The bottom line is fast weight loss is inherently dangerous, and if you don’t seek a doctor’s approval, it’s not recommended that you even try. Finding the right programme will start in only one place, and that’s with you. But, here’s what we can do for you: we can offer you some great tips to kick-start your brand new, healthy lifestyle – in fact, instead of healthy weight loss, let’s just call it healthy lifestyle.
Losing weight takes commitment no matter how you do it
Losing weight is never easy, and there is unfortunately no magic pill that will simply melt the fat away no matter what you eat – at least not yet. Here are some important medical and scientific facts about losing weight:
- To really lose weight you must use up more calories than you take in
- One pound equals 3,500 calories
- In order to lose 1 to 2 pounds per week, you must reduce calorie intake by 500 to 1000 per day
- Combining moderate to intense exercises at least 60 to 90 minutes per week will increase your overall success rate
Once again, a healthy lifestyle can be achieved, which includes reaching your weight loss goals by making healthy choices when it comes to food, and taking at the very least an hour a week for some exercise. Walking is by far the healthiest alternative, even if you’re just starting out.
With even a moderate plan in mind, you can achieve a lot more than simple loss of pounds. Even with a 5 to 10 percent loss in body weight, you reap benefits like improvements in blood pressure, blood cholesterol and blood sugars. For example, if your current weight is around the 200 pound mark, even a 5% weight loss equals 10 pounds. Even though this is still considered severely overweight, or even obese, the modest weight loss of 10 pounds already starts to reduce risk factors and chronic diseases.
Sounds good doesn’t it!
Modesty might just be the best policy, when it comes to achieving your weight loss goals. Even at our clinics in Spain, where we provide healthy alternatives to gastric band surgery, through our world famous Gastric Mind Band therapy, some of the responsibility for maintaining a healthy lifestyle and keeping the weight off depends on you.
Improving your life through moderate healthy weight loss
Let’s face it – losing weight and getting fit is great for your physical well-being. This means you’re more likely to live a longer life. You see it today everywhere online that people are now living to be 100 and even up to 110! The Queen of England had to stop sending off her congratulatory letters because there are far too many now living past 100!
But most of all, getting fit and healthy will help boost confidence, making you feel like a million bucks…or
heck, even a billion! A healthy weight loss regime includes a choice, and the choice starts with you. You can decide today to begin a journey that will in effect save your life. There is always time to change, and it’s never too late to start.
The Gastric Mind Band is the healthy alternative to gastric band surgery. Take a look through our site before deciding on gastric band surgery.
